Page 12A:  Paragraph;  Chris Hedrick, founder and president of Pug Rescue of North Carolina, spent part of her afternoon trimming untended claws on many of the small dogs. She and a helper were disturbed by much of what they had already seen, including a mixed-breed dog which had one overgrown claw curled under and buried back within its paw padding.
