14 weeks old and on DEATH ROW

(sentenced to "Death" by her previous owner)

October 16, 2007:

We received a call from a concerned caring Boston Terrier lady telling us a little 14 week old had just came in to the Henrico County Animal Protection in Richmond, VA today. We called the Animal Control Officer and she said she had the little girl pug and it was be (10) ten day before we could get her out. So we put our name in to be able to get her.

October 18, 2007

Two days later we received a call from the animal protection society stating we could come and get her. She was in major need of medical care or she would die. Right away we called our representative Marguerite which lived near that area to see if she could go by and rescue this baby puppy, and she said "YES" So baby Marguerite got her name from the savior who rescued her.

October 19, 2007

Baby Marguerite was rescued today and on her way to North Carolina. Upon arrival we knew what we were facing as our rescue rep had informed us of her medical condition. We gathered up and prepared for what medical supplies we would need once she arrived. She was very weak and "lethargic," suffering from severe dehydration and an upper respiratory infection, not to mention 95 % of her body was covered with mange, with open bleeding sores......... All our vets had closed but we are fortunate enough to have wonderful medical personnel as members of PRONC who had donated emergency IV fluids and medication. Right away we gave her IV fluids, Clavamox, and washed her skin down with a Malaseb cleanser.

October 20, 2007
Right before our annual Pug Rescue Picnic was to take place we got up at 6am and took Marguerite to our veterinary hospital for continued IV Fluids, medication and round the clock care. Bless her tiny little heart, she doesn't cry, bark or nothing, not one tiny little sound....although her tiny body was sick, pledged with bleeding sores, mange and itches...... she still gave me some kisses before I left her!\

October 25, 2007

Marguerite came home today. Her skin looks a tiny bit better since she is well hydrated and has went through several medicated baths and a Mitaban dip. She will continue on the baths with 3 different RX medicated shampoos, medication and a dip every two weeks. These shampoos will cost over $120.00 per gallon, please if you can help and donated some of this shampoo please do! Marguerite will need these baths twice a week for the next 6 months, maybe longer!!

Baby Marguerite is doing really great :-) she is acting like a normal little puppy now, even though she still looks bad ....... most of the bleeding sores are healed up now and no more bleeding . . . . . . . . .she got her second dip today....... in two weeks she will go back to the vet and they will do another skin scraping to see if they find any mites :( I certain hope and pray they will be all gone........and she can start growing fur back
