Dick Verrier

January 28, 1936 - June 21, 2004

"Devoted Member and Friend"

Dick's final "Wish" his 1932 Ford Roadster,

along side him is his Mother

Arthur R. “Dick” Verrier, of Wilmington, NC, died June 21, 2004 peacefully at his home with his family by his side.

A native of Rhode Island, Dick was born on January 28, 1936 in Providence, RI, to Herve Arthur (predeceased) and Mary Brown Verrier of East Greenwich, RI.   He spent most of his adult life in South Windsor and Manchester, Connecticut where he enjoyed a 37 year career with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, as a Supervisor of Jet Engine Test Support.  He retired in 1993 and in 1996 relocated to Wilmington, NC where he made many great friends.  Dick was an avid lover of pugs, which he bred, showed and championed for the last 13 years of his life with his wife, Judith Churchill Verrier who predeceased him.  Dick’s passion for cars led him to his dream of building a 1932 Ford Roadster, which was completed and driven just before his death.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 725A Wellington Avenue, Wilmington, NC  28401; and, Pug Rescue of North Carolina, PO Box 94, Summerfield, NC 27358.
