Pug Rescue of North Carolina, Inc.

Adoption Application

Incomplete applications or errors will not be processed

Please read ALL the information below before completing the application.

Dogs often live longer than 15 years and are a lifelong commitment and not just a passing whim.  Will you take responsibility for his/her entire life?

If you are not totally 100% committed to the lifetime of a pug if approved to adopt from, us please do not apply until you are 100% certain.

We are guardians of the pugs we rescue and must put their well-being first, we hope you understand.

NOTICE:  Due to the number of applications received:  Applications will be kept on file for 30 days only

PRONC’s adoption process begins with filling out the adoption application.  Once that is done, we take the applications of those of those most suitable for the available Pug and begin email communication with them.  This could be any where from one applicant to 10 applicants.  We begin reducing the number through email communications, vet checks, reference checks, phone interviews and home checks.

We want to be certain that we place the right Pug with the right Forever Home!  This way we can rest assured it will be a good experience for the pug and human

We cover many different states.  We are a volunteer organization and do not have a shelter.  All of our rescues are in private foster homes and require schedule appointments with those who help us by fostering our rescued dogs.

We are a certified non-profit in the state of North Carolina, and are publicly supported 501 3 c organization and operate solely on donations.  We DO accept out-of-state applications, but require the approved applicants to come to the location in which the dog is being fostered with any current dog(s) to meet the potential new family member.  We do not ship.

The following guidelines have been established to speed up the placement process.

  • To submit an application you need to either request one to be US Postal mailed to you or fill it below.  It is essential that we have a name AND phone# of your Veterinarian that can verify that your current and/or past pets meet our policy requirements.
  • In order to be considered for one of the animals in our program; it is our policy that your other animals be spayed or neutered, current on all vaccines including rabies, parvo, distemper, and are on a heartworm preventative.  We do not require fenced in yards in our program unless a certain pug requires it.
  • For your convenience include all questions and comments at the end of the application.  The foster parent will contact you after they have reviewed your application.

Please remember that we are a volunteer organization.   All of our volunteers have full time jobs, families, etc. and use their free time to check emails and get your application processed.  If you haven't heard from us within 2 weeks, please check our website to see if the animal in question has already been adopted or contact us through email admin@pugrescuenc.org

Phone Contact:  336-312-2983 (North Carolina or 757-240-0815 (Virginia)  We appreciate your patience and understanding.

    Remember:

WE rescue pugs regardless of age or health, many come from shelters and pounds that are sick and in bad need of medical attention, some are owner surrenders and strays as well. We provide medical attention to the best of our ability, up date all vaccines, spay and neuter each pug, and address any other medical needs which deem necessary to save their life within our budget ”BEFORE" they are ready for adoption.  We rarely know any background history about the pugs we rescue.
